Marina Rütten studied architecture at the University of Arts in Berlin. She graduated in 1990 with a degree in engineering (Diplom Ingenieur) and began her career as a "classical" architect. During this time she was first a freelancer, then a project partner in the architectural office ELW in Berlin. During this time, she worked on projects such as the reconstruction of the Potsdam City Hall and the development of the area of the Hubertusstock Hunting Castle into a conference center for the Entrepreneurs' Association and the Savoy Hotel GmbH.
After a few years in "serious" architecture, she began to establish herself very sustainably in the artistic fringe areas of the architectural profession. Over the years, this led to numerous projects in the field of exhibitions, events, stage design and, time and again, illustrations. Almost 20 years lasted the teaching at Berlin universities, including as a visiting professor for representation and design at the Beuth University Berlin.
In 2014, the theming of architecture was added as a new focus, the creation of immersive environments.
As different as the activities may be, the focus is always on making space tangible and telling stories.
